Desén is grateful to have partners who make our research possible. As a non-profit project we rely on the support of others in the academic and commercial spheres to fully realize the potential of our work.
If you would like to contribute to our team, please get in touch.
While Desén focuses on the computational simulations, digital results and online publications, such research is incomplete without a physical component adding veracity to our findings as well as raising new questions and prompting further investigations. The geometries we work with are exceptionally complex and push the boundary of what is possible to fabricate digitally.
We are very fortunate to have partnered with Sinterit, one of the few companies capable of successfully fabricating these detailed models. Sinterit is a manufacturer of an innovative form of 3d Printing which uses laser sintering to build objects from powder. Unlike, other laser-based 3d printers, Sinterit has developed new hardware and software which dramatically lowers the price of fabrication - this is changing both what's possible to fabricate and who can do so.
All of our professional exhibition displays are fabricated by Sinterit and we hope to collaborate further with them from a research perspective. We look forward to co-authoring several research papers on the disruptive potential of our digital design process with their digital fabrication innovations.
Desén has been incredibly fortunate to receive feedback from a variety of academic and professional design organisations, two of the most important being the Center for International Education and Exchange (CIEE) and the Architectural Institute in Prague (ARCHIP). These organisations have not only provided critical research advice and direction (both practical and philosophical) they have also enabled us to prototype pieces, network with other research institutions and exhibit our project.
In particular we are especially grateful to Regina Loukotová, Martin Gsandtner, Lukas Kronawitter and Chris Tschersich for the support and guidance you have given this project.
